Advantages of black cable ties

Due to their colour, black cable ties are very discreet and almost invisible when used with black cables. Black rubber cable ties and hook-and-loop cable ties are also less conspicuous than coloured cable ties.
Unlike coloured plastic cable ties or cable ties in white and natural colours, black plastic cable ties are also suitable for outdoor use. Whilst cable ties in other colours quickly fade and become brittle in sunlight, black cable ties are resistant to UV radiation.

Why are black cable ties made of polyamide 6.6 UV-resistant?

Black cable ties made of polyamide 6.6 get their colour from the carbon black content in the material. The carbon black protects the material from UV radiation, thereby extending the service life of the cable ties. Black cable ties made of rubber or hook-and-loop material, on the other hand, are only weather-resistant to a limited extent. Sunlight will cause rubber cable ties to become brittle over time, whilst the fabric used in hook-and-loop cable ties loses its colour.

How long do black cable ties last?

The standard black cable ties made from polyamide 6.6 available in our online shop can withstand weather conditions for up to 5 years. We also carry black cable ties with long-term UV resistance in our assortment. Thanks to their higher carbon black content, these last for up to approximately 10 years.
